Ms. Strablizky was the Water Referee for Division 5 Water Court from April 2010 to September
2016.
She briefly left the Water Court to work for Eagle County Government to work as an Assistant
County
Attorney where she provided legal services to all elected county officials, departments and
boards and commissions. In January 2022, Ms. Strablizky returned to her position as the Water
Referee for Division 5 Water Court. She presides over all of the Applications for water rights
filed in Division 5 Water Court.
Ms. Strablizky formerly practiced water and land use law at Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber, Schreck, LLP, in Denver, Colorado. Her water practice involved representing clients in water court litigation in Division 1 Water Court, specifically for change of water rights, new surface and storage rights, ground water rights, and plans for augmentation. Her land use practice focused primarily on the zoning and entitlement process, with an emphasis on urban renewal, mixed use, transit-oriented development, PIFs and other public financing tools, and special challenges such as the 1041 permitting process.
Before practicing law in Denver, Ms. Strablizky clerked for Montana Supreme Court Justice Jim Regnier and was a Water Master at the Montana Water Court. Throughout law school at University of Denver, she worked for the University of Denver Water Law Review and ultimately held the Editor in Chief position for that publication. In her previous career, Ms. Strablizky was a land use planner for the City of Steamboat Springs and Routt County in Colorado.
